Biggest storyline: It could be the 3A QB no one heard of until last season when his team went undefeated and became a national elite 11 QB. Thus propelling fans to pay attention to teams South of Denver Metro area and 3A football, a classification that is highly competitive from week to week. Or it could be repeating last year of another State Title.
Biggest holes to fill: The Bears will be looking to fill a few holes on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball because graduation losses are minimal. However, this team includes several skill position players that are ready to play in 2018. It is a senior heavy team that has some quality future players that could see reps especially if Palmer Ridge puts up basketball scores again.
Gonzo’s Early Take: Palmer Ridge and head coach Tom Pulford will welcome back his starting running back, quarterback, wide receiver and a majority of his linemen, and some talented linebackers. That’s always a great place to start in a title defense year. The Bears also have a talented underclassmen group. Keep an eye on the development of sophomore QB in Luke Mcallister that has had a great summer as did Kaden Dudley via 7on7 with Ty Evans along with several others from the 2020 and 2021 group. Getting off to a great start will be a challenge, as game one is against the very competitive and loaded Colorado Springs 4A Pine Creek squad. Followed by several tough non conference foes.
#GONZOWATCHLIST to be featured in August Football magazine. List prepared for Spring evaluations.
