The 2020-21 football season had a delayed start due to the virus known as covid19. Some school districts were unable to field teams or actually participate due to guideline restrictions. Hence the SPRING league and a host of teams that could hoist a trophy and state title by the end of the Colorado high school cycle and graduation in May.
The conferences are broken into two divisions like the college PAC-12 and should be interesting as teams can play up to six contests to qualify for post season. The algorithms are scheduled to apply and will be very interesting down the stretch.
Apparently 2020-21 will be the year of the asterisk (*). Two state title winners in 5A, 4A, 3A, 2A and 8-man football.
The football committee should seriously follow this format moving into the next two year cycle. Balanced competition in SOUTH and NORTH Leagues.
